Initrd DM8168

Hi all,
I try to run DM8168 / DVRRDK_03.00.00.00 from an initrd, but we got problems:
I can create the ram disk, Flash kernel und ramimage and start the kernel, but an error occurs if the initrd is touched.
The size of my root file system: 100MB, size of ramdisk.gz 38,9 MB.
Has anybody experience with initrd and DVRRDK ?

  • Hi folks,
    Ok I found one mistake I made.
    The memory for Linux is splitted so I put initrd to 0xC2000000 now.
    But another error occurs.

    Any idea ?

  • Hi folks,
    I can boot initrd if I reduce the size of the Root File System < BLK_DEV_RAM_SIZE 32768
    and setting BLK_DEV_RAM_COUNT 1.
    But for my application I need more space. So I did try to increase BLK_DEV_RAM_SIZE in menuconfig.
    It is interesting that the settings in menuconfig are always overwritten if I build the kernel
    make -s lsp_all.
    Has anybody experience with this behavior ?
