hi,

do we have an application doc /spec on VIP programing model?

From TRM I can see registers that can be setup, but I would like to have a concrete example listing all the registers for a given configuration .(VIP parsrer, VPDMA, interrupt,...)

Note I am ialso nterested in low level code ( HAL i.e no OMX or above)

Hello,

I am not aware of such example also. I believe the lack of this is because the VIP module is normally not utilized directly; this is done through the video capture driver:

This could help you to figure out something, but generally I think this wouldn't be enough. If you're still chasing this, I could try to contact you with someone familiar with this area.

Hi,

Any specific reason for this requirement. VIP programming model is not very simple because of the descriptor based programming.

But they are high level.

the reason I am asking that is that I need to validate the nextGen version of VIP. bare metal code is required.

As you probably know, this driver is integrated in EZSDK.

It's location should be in the kernel, I guess something like:

<EZSDK_HOME>/board-support/linux-XX/drivers/media/video/ti81xx/

thanks but I already try to download this on a windows PC. and then send to a remote linux PC, but it was impossible to unzipped it. (corrupted file)

Maybe it is required to download directly on a linux machine.Unfortunatly ido not have one.

I don't think that the file should get corrupted by that.

EZSDK is not an archive, it is more like a self-extract. It is a Linux executable/Installer. You have to run it from your shell like this:

$ ./ezsdk_dmXX-evm_XX_setuplinux

or just double-click it. Sorry if that is what you are doing.

Check it out, there is a brand-new 5.05 release now.

...and it might be, that before you need to spend access rights to that file:

chmod a+x ezsdk_dmXX-evm_XX_setuplinux

Also it's worth remembering that EZSDK is announced to support only Ubuntu 10.04 resp. 11.10, 32bit only. If typically you're using Windows VirtualBox actually is a good idea, it works perfect to have an Ubuntu ready to hand at a Windows PC...
