C6678 RSV01 and RSV08 pins

In our design we haven't connected RSV01 (which according to C6678 datasheet's table 2-15 should be tied to DVDD18) and RSV08 (which need to be tied to GND).

Now XDS560 emulator says about dead JTAG clock and therefore can't connect to C6678.

For what these pins are responsible to? And what happens if they are left unconnected?

  • Vladimir,

First all reserved pins must be connected as dictated in the data manual and the HW design guidelines to guaranty operation.  We do no disclose what these reserved pins do specifically.  Most of them are for test purposes but some may have impact on some of the HW if not connected correctly during normal operation.

That said, I checked those pins, and leaving them floating will not impact the Emulation.

Have you checked you emulation design.  Did it follow the XDS560 guidelines in the XDS560 Technical Reference Guide http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/spru589a/spru589a.pdf?  Have you verified that the TCK_RET is getting a clock?

Have you verified the device is coming up and out of Reset?

    Best Regards,

    Chad
