Functionality of GEMBURSTOPTEN and default value on DSPBIOS projects

Hi,

I have just seen on the DM37xx TRM, section 5.4.3.4.7 Performance Consideration Timing,  the description for bit SYSC_LICFG0.GEMBURSTOPTEN

I am curious to know what this bit enables/disables. By default the bit is disabled, but then later on in the manual, section 5.4.12, recommends to set it to "Enable". Also, on Table 5-482, it says 1="transfers are optimized", 0="transfers are not optimized".

By all those description, one is left to wonder why is it "0" by default ? It smells like bad things might happen by enabling it, otherwise why is it disabled by default.

Any clarificaiton on the behaviour controlled by this bit would be appreciated.

Does anybody know if DSP/BIOS sets this bit in any way ?

Raul.
