Which DSP for the beginning?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAP-L138

Hello,

i need to choose one of the DSP micros. The questions is which one? I need to help.

It will be aplication, in which i want to use ADC for sampling data, then i will follow with filtering and DAC for outup. The signal will be in range of 20- 20kHz. It doesnt needs to be low power, but i "normal" package :D Im able to solder QFN, but PQFP, or something similar will be better. Maybe SPI driver will suited.

Thank you a lot, im lost in all the parametres:)

  • Welcome to the TI E2E forum. I hope you will find many good answers here and in the TI.com documents and in the TI Wiki Pages. Be sure to search those for helpful information and to browse for the questions others may have asked on similar topics.

From the TI Home Page, you can look at MicroControllers or DSPs and find the Selection Tools that you can use to narrow down your search once you start to become familiar with what the choices are.

I will recommend the OMAP-L138/C6748 Experimenter Kit. You can use this board for the whole application and not have to do any soldering. You can find more information from the link TMDSEXPL138.

Best of luck with your project.
