8 bit ECC Nand Flash on DM365

All:

I am new to Nand Flash and its programming. I am using MT29F16G08DAAWP for customized dm365 board.

This nand has 8 bit ecc. I am not able to read the 0x00 location. I am using standard serial flasher utility.

Previous NAND was having 4 bit ecc and it is still working fine on old hardware. I am using standard serial flasher utility for this. I can read the parameter table as well.

My Q are

1.) Can I use the same program for new NAND?

2.) What should I change to read param table on new nand?

Any help on this is really appreciated.

Amit,

Can you be more clear. The description is really vague. How can you use 8-bit ECC for your NAND, since DM365 doesn't support 8-bit ECC itself. Have you tried the using 4-bit ECC.

Can you describe the steps that you are following and if possible, share the complete logs also.

We are aware that 8-bit ecc is not supported on dm365.But we got this readymade h/w and are trying to read parameter table.

So, we dont have any more options. Either we need to prove that it is not working or prove that it works fine.

According to http://e2e.ti.com/support/dsp/davinci_digital_media_processors/f/100/p/55641/197542.aspx#197542 it should work, since it worked for one of the community member. We are not using serial flasher utility instead we are using SD Card to boot.
