common Log_info API

Hi,

Even though there are several APIs for log print such as Log_info0(), Log_info1(), Log_info2()......., The fact that they have different APIs is weired to me. Is there common API such as Log_info() without numerical syntax; 0, 1, 2, ....?

Sangchul,
there is no Log_info() API. We needed Log APIs to be efficient, with a fixed number of cycles, so we did not want to have any variadic functions in the call chain.

At the time we defined API, we still had to support compilers that don't support variadic macros.

Is that reason LOG_printf() was removed from legacy BIOS?

If by "legacy BIOS" you mean DSP/BIOS 5, then no, LOG_printf wasn't removed from it. I am using DSP/BIOS 5.41.13 and LOG_printf calls compile just fine.

Sorry, I made a typo.

What I wanted to say was the reason TI could not help removing LOG_printf() from SYS/BIOS 6.

In DSP/BIOS applications you printed to a DSP/BIOS LOG by defining a LOG buffer and calling the LOG_printf() function to write to the buffer. In SYS/BIOS you can create a default logger to write log output. One method is to use the XDCtools LoggerBuf module to create a LoggerBuf instance and set the instance as the default logger for the system so that output will be written to it. XDCTools provides a much richer functionality than was provided with DSP/BIOS.
