Can I force to use H.263+ to encode when resolution is sub-QCIF, QCIF, CIF, 4CIF, 16CIF?

Hi everyone,

I use TI 01.00.00.03 MPEG4 Encoder and encode H.263+ bitstream.  I found when I encoded H.263 standard picture resolution, that is sub-QCIF, QCIF, CIF, 4CIF or 16CIF, it would generate H.263 bitstream.  (the PTYPE bit 6-8 will not be extended PTYPE)  Could I force encoder to encode H.263+ bitstream when the standard picture resolution is used?  And how can I config the encoder to do this?  Thanks a lot.

Sincerely,

James

  • Hi James,

The encoder decides itself when to use H263+ syntax on its own and there is not way to force it externally.

Once such scenarios as you described for standard video resolutions to non standard resolutions decided the usage of PTYPE.
