DM8168 IBIS Files

The DM8168 appears to have two IBIS files. In one IBIS file, the component name is 'dm8168_pg1x'. In the other IBIS file, the component name is 'dm8168_pg2x'. Apart from slight differences in the order of pins for each component and some small differences in signal names, I can't find anything of significance that is different between the two files. The most important data - the pin-out and the models - in each file appear to be exactly the same. Can anyone tell me why there are two files and what do the 'pg1x' and 'pg2x' suffixes mean? Is it just a mistake there are two IBIS files?

I think that it is related to two silicon revisions of the DM8168, revision 1.x and rev 2.x (the x is for sub versions).

Thank you, Albert_83. That makes sense if the revisions are 'real'; i.e. you know there are actually those two revisions. I could not find any differences in the data in the two files but that may not be a problem. That is, perhaps a die revision did occur but it did not affect the I/O buffers. That isn't unusual at all.

That's right. It corresponds to the silicon revisions. The difference between the two files comes as a slight update. You can refer to DM816x datasheet, section 9.1.2 Device and Development Support-Tool Nomenclature to determine the silicon revisions of your chip.
