Android and Third party Bluetooth Dongles

Hi all.

Is it possible to use any USB Bluetooth dongle with TI's Android BSP? For example i will buy TMDXEVM3358. And I will use AM3352 chip for our final product. But the kit's Bluetooth module (WL1271) is not Low Cost. I want to use an OEM Bluetooth Dongle. Do you think that current Android BSP supports Generic USB BT devices? If not, is it easy to porting to current Android BSP.?

Hi,

As far as bluetooth dongle is supported by the kernel you planning to take, it will work.

Porting effort required

- Integrating bluetooth to kernel

- few configuration change to android.

Thanks for fast reply. In fact, it is easy to add to kernel and i did many times on another brand. It works on Consol application but UserSpace(Android). I must enable/disable from Android's "Settings" menu and also ı must reach BT adapter with JAVA Codes. However. I think it will be okay.

Yes this is completely same with my problem on other CPU. That's the why i changed all my finished project to change TI.
