Hi,

Why is an external BUCK used for VRTC in the ICE 15x15mm design?

Can the VRTC from the TPS65910 be used directly instead? I have noticed that there are different variants of the 65910 chip. In

SWCU093B on page 6 and 7 there are different schematics for the different variants where the VRTC differs. Why is that?

Hi Markus,

Table 1 in the same document will give you the answer to the different PMIC variants. An external LDO is used because in low-power mode the PMIC internal LDO will provide only 0.1mA.

If RTC is not needed can the VDDS_RTC Pin D7 on ZCE package be left floating?

No Power supply should be left floating. In particular, VDDS_RTC is the supply for some other functions, besides RTC. You can see this in datsheet Table 2-7, column ZCE POWER/ZCZ POWER.
