RE: DM365 Bt.656 Output

1). I understand DM365 can accept Bt.656 format video as input. In our application we need the same format(bt.656) as output as well.

2). Or can you please point me to a DSP that could input or output 656

3). Lastly, maybe a device that we can use to convert from RGB to 656.

Regards,,nasser

  • DM365 VPBE already supports BT.656 protocol. Check the VPBE document of DM36x.

  • Thomas,

We need to receive AND transmit BT.656 simultaneously. Is this possible? If yes what ports we would be using on DM365. I looked at the VBPE but i am not sure it was clear as to if we can do this operation.

  • Thomas,

I reviewed DM365 data sheet and based on the following statements it seems we do support simultaneous BT656 from the image sensor AND output to the LCD panel:

The digital LCD controller supports the following features:

    Programmable Timing Generator

    Various Output Formats

    YCbCr 4:2:2 16-bit

    YCbCr 4:2:2 8-bit

    Parallel RGB 16/18/24-bit

    Serial RGB 8-bit

    EAV/SAV insertion
