In DM8168 RDK, we find dvrrdk is licensed under CC-BY-SA (TI guys, CC license is not recommended for use in software). If we are to design some software based on dvrrdk, such as mcfw, does this mean that our software should also be licensed under CC-BY-SA? If so, does this mean the software source code should be open rather than closed?
Feel confused and any suggestion is welcome.
