RAW data formats in VPFE of AM3517

Is your B&W sensor is 8 bit ? I guess it should be possible.

You can arrange your sensor data either as UYVY or YUYV and feed it to VPFE. Configure the VPFE driver to YUV mode and rest of the pipeline should take care.

Yes it seems possible. I have 10bit data, but I can set sensor to 1280 pixels and throw away every 2nd one as dummy U or V data.
Hope there is some hue control down the pipeline.
But I am still curious that there are different configurations of RAW sensor mentioned in the datasheet without any control bits associated with them.

There is control register for selecting different RAW color pattern called "COLPTN", you can check the same in the section 10.5.13 in the TRM.

Hi Redhesh,

I am afraid that this register describe only bayer pattern schemes. I hoped that for foveon there is some register which sets number of bytes per pixel to 3 in one line,
and maybe setting this register to one I will get what I need for B&W. But as I wrote, I did not find any such register or method to use sensor different from bayer pattern.
