DM36x Image continuity problem at Higher resolution and higher bitrates

Hi,

we are using DM368 with H264 latest platinum codec version 02.30.00.04.

In high resolutions ( 2048x1536 - 20 FPS /1920x1080 - 30 FPS ) with high bitrates appx 10 Mbps or grater image continuity is not good ( for High speed moving objects like Cars moving outside )

Where as if i change the bitrate to less let say 3 Mbps it looks good.

I debugged the timings where capture is happening in 33 ms on on avg, encode - I frame 39~40 Ms and P Frame - 30~32 ms it takes.

Can some one suggest me what could be the reason.

Hi Sujit,

Not sure but could this be because of network congestion? Have you checked the VLC configuration like caching value?

Uploading the video stream for the same.

We debugged the timings and found network side it is ok, and also to avoid network we tried with direct connection and found the same.

My biggest concern is I Frame taking more than 33 ms i.e 39~40 ms, where as it should have taken below 33 ms in the case of (2M 30 fps case).

I am not sure but is the jerking effect is due to more time taken by I Frame ?

Is it possible to share the exact stream given out by the encoder instead of vlc snapshot?

Hi Sujith,

For DM36x,

1. I frame encoding takes slightly higher time than P frame but for a stream having Intra frame interval as 30, the affect gets averaged out and you should not see any performance problem.

2. The stream shared by you

-- There is a combination of both periodic Intra frame and GDR, why is that ?

-- Why do you have so frequent Intra frames ?

3. Can you share the codec config files ?
