Blaze 4430 Thermal Management

Hi,

Does the Blaze 4430 (ES2.3 GP) have thermal management enabled in the Android build? On my PandaBoard, I can do:

cat /sys/bus/platform/devices/omap_temp_sensor.0/temperature

to see the current temperature, but on my Blaze, I don't see the same sysfs file.

Also, in my Panda's kernel messages, I see:

<6>[ 2.719207] omap_temp_sensor omap_temp_sensor.0: omap_temp_sensor probed

But I don't see anything similar on the Blaze.

What specific SW release are you using? Also, is your pandaboard using a 4460? If the chip is 4460 or 4470, then the omap temp sensor is initialized. Otherwise it isn't. You can see this in the function omap_temp_sensor_init() in drivers/misc/omap_temp_sensor.c (used by the panda 4AI.1.4 release I believe) and drivers/staging/thermal_framework/sensor/omap_temp_sensor.c (used by blaze ICS releases).

I am using 4AI.1.5 on my Blaze. My PandaBoard is a 4430.

Sorry, I was mistaken. My PandaBoard is indeed a 4460. So, does the 4430 not have any thermal sensors?

The 4430 does have a bandgap sensor, however, it is not very accurate. Therefore we do not use it.
