TMS320VC5510A code protection

Currently we have a product with C5510A and would like to protect the code on external FLASH memory. Does anyone have any ideas?

I would like to know if somebody has attempted to protect code on external FLASH memory by encryption / decryption. Thus when the FLASH is programmed the code is encrypted and then when the DSP boots the code is decrypted by getting a seed value from another processor etc. I have seen that this is implemented on the newer C5000 DSP's.

Would it be possible to store a seed value inside the DSP? Getting it from the outside is not clever!

The C5510A bootloader does not support decryption.

I am fully aware that the bootloader does not support decryption. Could you not have some part of the boot code have a decryption algorithm and the rest encrypted. Then have the decryption algorithm decrypt the encrypted part?

Sure. You can write your boot code to contain decryption algorithm. This is the capability of your application code.
