Issue booting OMAP3530 Beagle Board

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAP3530

Hello Gina,

Thanks for the response. Since 5912 is very much old as not supported but I have one Beagle board OMAP 3530 based on ARM Cortex-A8 but i had a trouble with the starting of X-Loader starting every single time that I boot. Most of the time when it does not start I remove power and then reapply it but no help.

This is the normal boot output when it starts:

£t?b$U @ @ @D¨±` @ @

Texas Instruments X-Loader 1.5.1 (Jul 21 2012 - 15:02:44)
OMAP3530-GP ES3.1
Board revision: 0

When it does not start it just looks like this:

£t?b$U @ @ @D¨±` @ @

Then nothing happens.

Any ideas of why the x-loader would not come up & any guidance will be helpful.

Regards,

Dileep.

  • Dileep,

I am moving this question to the OMAP3530 forum.

  • Dileep,

I believe this is the characters that are sent to start UART boot mode and once it fails it might be switching to other boot modes. I'm not sure about the board, is there any jumpers/switches to configure the bootmode of OMAP3530? If available, can you try changing that according to the last (27th) chapter of TRM and observe the behavior.

Also can you try booting up the board using uart boot mode. Instructions might be available in some wikipage.
