Hello,

I am trying to create a SYS/BIOS project for the c6670 EVM using the information starting on pg 26 of "TI SYS/BIOS v6.34 Real-time Operating System User's Guide".

In the New CCS Project dialog, I set the family to c6000 and the variant to c66xx : TMS320C6657 (TMS320C6670 is not available). Then in the RTSC configuration the target is set as ti.targets.c66. When I build this project I get the error "Target not supported: ti.targets.c66". Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Chuck,

SYS/BIOS only supports the ELF version of the C66 target: "ti.targets.elf.C66".

Also, make sure the 'C' in 'C66' is capitalized.

Which version of CCS are you using? Any chance you are using something older than 5.2? If you select "Generic C66 device", CCS should fill in the ti.targets.elf.C66 as the default.

I'm using CCS v5.2.1 and trying to use the taget "ti.targets.C66" and ends up with the same problem.

In what way is it not supported? I thought that I could use what exists in the xdctools.../packages/ti/targets/, but apparently not.

What options do I have? Using an older DSP/BIOS? Using elf format?

Olof,
XDCtools and SYS/BIOS are different products. SYS/BIOS supports only a subset of targets supported by XDCtools. If you can switch to ELF, that would be your best bet. DSP/BIOS does not suport C66.

Hello, I'am Jiao, and I also meet such a problem. The version I use now is 5.3, while I choose Generic C66xx and legacy COFF, the same error appears.

the answer I already provided in my previous post still holds. If you want to use SYS/BIOS on C66xx, you have to choose ELF as the output format on the page Project Properties->CCS General->Main.
