Camera module detection in Uboot code?

Hi ALL:

camera module is : OV3640!

 Need to detect camera module in uboot code,

It's connected through i2c interface ,

But problem is,

16Bit register address are there, so in uboot only 1 byte register address support is there,

so anyone tell me how to modify for 16 Bit register address or any patch for inclusion in uboot!!!!!!!!!
