Documentation of Navigator Runtime??

Hey guys...

I'm very interested in the navigator runtime of the multicore navigator... especially in the dynamic mapping of tasks to different cores. I've read about that in different papers, and in the keystone architecture multicore navigator user guide they speak about a documentation called "NRT user guide"!

Searched for it for an hour, but didn't find anything in the web... do you know where I can get this documentation? Or do you have any information or experience with the navigator runtime? I am thankful for every kind of information, example or documentation...

I am unaware of any NRT user guides, but I do have a couple of documents that might be useful for you. Here is a white paper (http://www.ti.com/lit/wp/spry190/spry190.pdf), this Open MP Document mentions some of it too (http://www.ti.com/lit/ml/sprt620/sprt620.pdf), they talk about it in this C6636 SoC document (http://www.ti.com/lit/ml/sprt627/sprt627.pdf), and in this newsletter (http://www.ti.com/general/docs/bcg/bcgviewnewsletter.tsp?templateId=6116&navigationId=12070&contentId=146648).

Hopefully these will give you some answers. You mentioned mapping of tasks to different cores, could you be a little more specific of what you're asking about?

Hey Kat,

Thanks for your help... most of the documents i've already read. Oh, it's just about gathering informations about this runtime! I've read the whitpaper and on page 3 they speak about the main function of NRT, the distribution of jobs to different cores! Don't know if I will ever use this feature! But currently I'm working on my diploma thesis and I would like to examine the Navigator Runtime a little bit... as far as I get enough information about that ;)

So my question was: Where can I get the specification they are speaking about?

Okay, so I talked to some other senior engineers here. Basically it's just another abstraction, but there is no user guide or document available , other than the ones you have. What ever mentions of NRT user guides being out there is wrong, and we'll work to fix that. Sorry!

Maybe you could do thesis on another API?
