About life time of DM3730 pop working at Junction temperature

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DM3730

One our customer are using DM3730 for Box.

The use case is making the CPU working at 1GHZ performance mode always, and they don't use DSP,they don't use smar-reflex function. they test the surface of POP is 93 degree.

Customer want to know te life time when DM3730 working at Junction temperature.

  • Hello Joyce,

DM3730 data manual lists device POH (Power On Hours) in Table 3-3 "Reliability Data". Please note DM3730 reliability data is based on junction temp of DM3730 and not that of POP memory.

    Regards,

    Shaheen

  • Is Table 3-3 for the commercial, industrial, or extended temp part?

Ideally I would like to run a DM3730 at OPP1G all the time, but would reduce to a lower OPP if the temperature exceeded some threshold.  Can I do this on the extended temp part?  OPP1G at 90C and above, and decrease the OPP one level if the temp rises above 90C?  (And continue decreasing to maintain temp below 105C?)

I'm wondering if the extended temp part is identical to the industrial temp part, but with a register set somewhere indicating to the OS not to allow OPP1G? What is the actual difference between the industrial and extended temp parts?

    Thanks.
