TMS320 C6657 Evaluation modules

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM1802

Hi

Can you tell me further about the differencies and advantages/dissadvanges in the various EVM's

I guess its in the dubugging support offered

TMDXEVM6657L - basic XDS100

TMDXEVM6657LE - with XDS560

TMDXEVM6657LS - with XDS200 (current out of stock)

The basic L board looks like it has a FTDI2232 or similar on it for JTAG debugging, but there are no pictures of the others.

The LE looks like it has a daughter card with a Xilinx part and and AM1802

Are they all supported by CCSv5, and does that come included, and is it time or memory limited in any way - it seems very cheap way of aquiring CCS if it is unlimited.

Thanks.

  • The difference as you've surmised is the Emulation level natively supported on the card.  The XDS100 is built onto the EVM, the XDS560 and XDS200 options have a mezzanine card on them to provide XDS560 and XDS200 emulation functionality levels.  They will all support full functional version of CCS when they are connected.  If you are not using this EVM with it, then CCS would still only support the trial functionality levels (i.e. Simulator will work, but it's not going to work with other boards w/o a CCS license.)

    Best Regards,
