SGX530 GPU Source Available?

Hi Everyone,

I had a quick question about the GPU on the AM335x, the SGX530:

Is the complete source code available for the SGX530 drivers, or are we limited to just using API calls? We have a customer whose product must undergo a specific certification process, and this certification also includes code.

The Linux kernel driver source code is available in the SDK release. But the userspace OpenGLES libraries are binary only.

Thanks for your quick response! So if I understand you correctly, we have source for the kernel-level code that supports the various GP libraries, but the libraries themselves are not open?

That is right. The libraries are in userspace. I would be surprised if the certification asks for opening the userspace library's source code.

I don't think any of the GP vendors in PC world open their libraries either. Not mention they even don't fully open kernel driver yet.
