hi,

and got the message below:

Hi Younger,

Could you please let me know which kernel are you trying to build? In particular, please let us know which software release and hardware platform are you using?

For instance, if you are using L27.INC1.13.1 android release, please make sure that the environment variables are set as per the instructions at

http://omapedia.org/wiki/L27.INC1.13.1_OMAP4430_GingerBread_ES2.2_Release_Notes#Building_Kernel

After setting the environment variables, you can build it using the following set of commands.

make ARCH=arm distclean

make ARCH=arm android_4430_defconfig

make ARCH=arm uImage 2>&1 |tee $MYDROID/logs/kernel_make.out

It appears that your compiler version does not have the options that the kernel requires. Please list the kernel version and compiler version you are using. You may need to upgrade your compiler to a newer release. Cheers Jon

I have update the version of compiler, it seems success. but i got some message like below. is any thing wrong?

"mkimage" command not found - U-Boot images will not be built

Hi Younger,

mkimage is an executable found at the following relative location of u-boot code $u-boot/tools which is used for creating the zImage of kernel.

Could you please make sure that the u-boot code is downloaded and built and also you have exported the path for mkimage as mentioned below.

export PATH=${YOUR_PATH}/u-boot/tools:$PATH

I hope this would get rid of the messages you have pointed out.

Hello Younger,

Please do not use such an old release as L27.10.2-p1. Instead, folow the 4AI based release notes for pandaboard, such as http://omappedia.org/wiki/4AI.1.7_OMAP4_Icecream_Sandwich_Panda_Notes or http://omappedia.org/wiki/4AI.1.4_OMAP4_Icecream_Sandwich_Panda_Notes.

i don't understand why not choose high level version. 12.04 or even 12.10.

is there any problem on high version?

Even higher version should not be a problem as long as you have all the required tools installed as per the release notes.

it contains the manual method to install it. Just check to choose correct version and operative system, and correct installation directory and if it is 64 bits.

Default instructions are for 32bits, i386 and a different version.
