How to change default passwd complexity

Hi,

I am using TI816X EVM board, and the ezsdk version is 5.02.02.60.

Now I want to set root login password with command "passwd".

But I found that the password only can be set within 8 characters.

How to change the maximum length of the password?

Hello, Lei!

It depends on your system. As example, you can configure BusyBox parameters CONFIG_PASSWORD_MINLEN=6.

Thank you for your reply.

I am not sure but I think we are not using BusyBox on our system.

We just use the u-boot + linux-kernel + arago filesystem under the ezsdk 5.02.02.60 folder.

( u-boot-2010.06-psp04.00.00.12 + linux-2.6.37-psp04.00.00.12 + ezsdk-dm816x-evm-rootfs.tar.gz )

And now I don't know how to change the maximum length of the password.
