About the RTC power on reset

We don't need the RTC feature in our system. We need short the PWRONRSTn and RTC_PWRONRSTn according to the reference manual. But the power domain of them are different. PWRONRSTn is VDDSHV6 (3.3V) and RTC_PWRONRSTn is VDDS_RTC (1.8V). So we need to add a level shift part between them. Is that OK?

  • We are in the process of updating the schematic checklist with details related to various RTC use cases.

We want to verify this recommendation before publishing it in the schematic checklist, but you may be able to connect RTC_PWRONRSTn to VSS when not using RTC.

You also may be able to eliminate the capacitor connected to CAP_VDD_RTC when not using RTC if you connect RTC_KALDO_ENn to VDDS_RTC and CAP_VDD_RTC to VDD_CORE.

Please wait for a reply to this forum post stating we have confirmed this this is OK before implementing this RTC configuration.  We are hoping to have an answer in a few days.

    Regards,
    Paul
