DSP/BIOS -xdctool= path define

Guru 10750 points

Hi,

Where do I define the -xdctool= so I will not have to always define the xdctool path when opening tcf file ("specify XDC Tools installation directory"),

I'm using DSP/BIOS under CCS5.2.1,

Thanks,

HR

  • Hi HR,

Are you getting this message in a  pop up window when you try to launch the configuration tool?

What versions of DSP/BIOS and XDCtools are you using in CCSv5.2.1?

    Thanks,

    -Jon

  • Hi Jon,

Yes, I'm getting the pop up windows and than I'm setting the XDCtools path,

    DSP/BIOS - 5_42_00_07

    XDCtools - 3_23_04_60

    Thanks,

    Haim

  • Hi Haim,

I'm looking into this and I think it may be a bug.  Can you please try one more quick test for me.

Right click on your project and select properties --> General --> change the DSP/BIOS version at the bottom of that page back to the BIOS 5.41 version.

Select "ok" at the bottom and then go back and open the <project>.tcf file the same way you were doing it when you are getting the popup message.  Let me know if you still see the message or if it opens correctly in the configuration tool.

    Thanks,

    -Jon

  • Hi Jon,

    Yes, It's working fine with DSP/BIOS 5.41.13.42

    Thanks,

    HR

  • Hi Haim,

This seems to be a bug with the combination of CCSv5.2.1 and DSP/BIOS 5.42.00.07.

There are two ways to work around this.

    1. Upgrade to CCSv5.3.0 which will work correctly to open the configuration tool with DSP/BIOS 5.42.00.07.

    2. Configure the project to use DSP/BIOS 5.41.13.42 in CCSv5.2.1 when using the configuration tool.

I will open a bug to track this issue.

    Thanks,

    -Jon

  • Hi Jon,

OK, CCS 5.3.0 is currently Release Candidate I will download it when it become release meantime will use previous DSP/BIOS version,

    Thanks,

    HR
