Pre allow app permission

Hi,

Our Android device will always run a single App which will be programmed at factory. The device won't have any IO to accept or decline the App permission request the first time it boots. What is the procedure to pre-allow an app for everything it ask for in its manifest?

Does it work if the app is preinstalled as a system app in /system/app during the filesystem creation?

I have next information; 2 possible cases.

1. Create an external application to be installed in the final product with a full package distribution that requires signing and zipaligning process.

it means follow the rules that are explained in next links, they could be only some of the links.

2. Adding it to your Android FS when it is build, for example in $MYDROID/packages/apps where used manifest will locate it in /system/app, sign and zipalign, and use correct signatures to be run internally. But I don't have the rules about adding files of this type in final products, it could be good to contact Google for this information or look out for the answer.

Package Manager main files are located in next places ( there are more files involved in the process, I only mentioned the main code)

/mydroid/frameworks/base/services/java/com/android/server/pm/PackageSetting.java
and its directory all related to PM
/mydroid/frameworks/base/services/java/com/android/server/pm/

/mydroid/frameworks/base/core/java/android/content/pm/PackageManager.java
and its directory all related to PM
/mydroid/frameworks/base/core/java/android/content/pm/

the command line option
/mydroid/frameworks/base/cmds/pm/src/com/android/commands/pm/Pm.java

the apk from user UI
/mydroid/packages/apps/PackageInstaller

try to read main files a little to get a clue on what is checked when installing an apk, the other option is to enable the "install unknown sources" from settings to allow the application to be installed, but if you are adding it from manufacturer then it must have some sign that comes from factory, I think.

The last point is in your original post, you mentioned how to install and the changes to the manifest, about the manifest it is mentioned in the previous links, one part is for example installation directory. And I have a questions, are you trying to run it the first time when the system boots? I was thinking about this to add it in init.rc, but I am not totally sure about it, some information could be in /mydroid/system/core/init/readme.txt and to wait for boot complete command /4AI.1.7/mydroid/packages/experimental/ExampleImsFramework, but I don't have information on how to run it one time and then delete it, there must be some way because when using the device for first time there are some applications that runs for configuration, that could conflict a little.
