PREEMPT-RT Realtime kernel for AM335x processor on Beagle bone board

Hi,

I am using Beagle bone board (based on AM335x processor from TI). I wanted to patch the Linux kernel (version 3.2) supplied with TI SDK (AM335x-LINUX-PSP-04.06.00.07) with the Realtime patch. Can you please guide me where to find the patch for this kernel?

I will let the others in forum comment on where to find the patch. Currently RT-Linux is not supported on the 3.2 kernel so applying the patch is not recommended. Future support for the RT-Linux Patch is under consideration.

If mainline kernel 3.8 will let you use almost all of integrated peripherals, then you should just wait till real-time devs release 3.8-rt kernel and try it.

Thank-you Schuyler Patton for the answer. I am OK with even previous kernels if they can be patched with Realtime patch. Or I will have to wait for 3.8-rt kernelas RFC2217 suggested.

I think it is January/February. Each kernel release takes about 2 month. Perhaps you'll have luck with 3.7, that will be released in November. See these test results: http://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-omap/msg80721.html. I still haven't tried it myself, but according to reports one can start BeagleBone with this kernel.
