Hi Lisa,
Right now i am using CCS v5.2 and the biosmcsdk package is Bios_mcsdk_02_00_09_21 and ti_cgt_c6000_7.3.6_setup_win32.
So if i upgrade my CCS to version 5.3 should i also upgrade or change my bios version.
I have not installed it right now.
Please guide.
Regards,
Denzil.
Hi Denzil,
a couple further comments I hope help you. First my 5.3 folder was simply an example. You can feel free to continue for now with 5.2 especially if your 5.2 is the latest release.
Having said that, I hope the following also helps you. If you do try v5.3 or some future release containg a newer BIOS version you have a couple options
- you can continue using the older version with any project you migrate. CCS is capable of handling multiple versions. When you launch the new CCS Project wizard, you get a choice. You can point CCS to/install/check the versions you have in Window->Preferences->Code Composer Studio->Build->RTSC->Products. One thing to do is simply to remember not to remove or delete BIOS if you remove the previous CCS version
- you can migrate your project to a newer BIOS version
Does this help?
Best Regards,
Lisa
Hi Lisa,
The main reason i want to install the 5.3 version is because i was informed we get BCP simulator support. I wanted to confirm if we needed to upgrade our Bios_Mcsdk
and also the CGT for the same.
Regards,
Denzil.
Denzil,
BCP simulator is already in all CCS5.x releases, you don't have to move to CCS5.3 just for BCP. In you CCS installs, you should be able to see C6670 simulator which has BCP available in it. The newer BIOS_MCSDK2.1.1 is tested with CCS5.2.
