C6747 with SYS/BIOS: which SDK/PSP? which tool CCS 4 or 5?

Hi,

I have C6747 custom legacy hardware (can't change DSPs). I'd like to use SYS/BIOS 6.x and IPC (rather than DSP/BIOS 5.x). Which SDK, PSP, etc (software) version(s) should I use? Which version of Code Composer (4 or 5)?

Searching the forums I see two strong opinions from TI employees (for different situations): 1) Use CCS 3 (not an option for me) and 2) Use CCS 5. If I use CCS 5, where do I get SYS/BIOS compatible software for C6747 (peripheral drivers, etc)? I don't see the answer on the C6747 page.

My application info, in case it is relevent: 2 x UART, 2 x SPI, 2x McASP, EMIFB SDRAM, Asynchronous EMIFA memory mapped interface, SPI Boot, GPIO, DMA, multi-threaded, IPC

Mike,

SYSBIOS based drivers and PSP releases only support C6748 so these software packages are not available for C6747 platform.

DSP BIOS based products that support C6747 are available here:

stated "... move to CCSv5 ... if you move to the C6748, you can use the examples from the workshop with some adaptation if you choose the C6747".

Could you or he (or someone else) elaborate at all on what is involved in adapting C6748 examples to C6747?

Mike,

Randy`s comment on the post appears to be specific to getting the examples(Hello world, LED blink ,etc) from the workshop that is designed for C6748, to work with C6747 using CCSv5 and not with respect to drivers or platform support available under SYSBIOS for the device. Sasha response on the below thread on the BIOS forum, pretty much summarizes the situation for SYSBIOS driver support for C6747
