EMU pins

Hi all,

Is it necessary to connect EMU0 and EMU1 pins to JTAG for AM335x processors? These pins are multiplexed with GPIO and I need as much as possible GPIOs.

Yes, these pins are required for JTAG functionality.

How do I do to have these GPIOs available instead EMU pins? I'm using linux from TI SDK.

You have to pinmux them accordingly (set them to mode 7 for GPIO).

Be careful using these terminals as GPIO. These terminals must be high when reset is released.

We recently found they need to be pulled high very quickly when doing a software cold reset since the active reset duration is very short relative to the first time you apply power.
