How to remove airplane mode from android framework.

To disable Airplane mode, the following link should help:

It might be possible to remove this entry from Settings app itself. However, I do not have any idea about that.

What you have suggested is a command line solution, but i want it to happen automatically whenever the airplane/flight mode check-box is enabled and disabled respectively.

In our case its getting enabled, but when its disabled the icon remains still on the screen.

So , any changes in framework to be made ?

I am not familiar with that portion of the code, but I believe that this should be handled in the RIL/Modem HAL.

The TI Android DevKit does not specifically support any Modem/Baseband device, so this path remained incomplete. You might be able to find more information in other android forums on the internet.

I remember there was a workaround posted to the AOSP gerrit for this. But, I do not have that url handy.

Now my basic problem is with the airplane mode icon. It appears when i enable airplane mode, but it doesn't go when i disable it. It stays there until i do the following:

sqlite3 /data/data/*/*/settings.db

delete from system where name='airplane_mode_on'; 

and reboot

Any thoughts?

Does your device have a modem? If not, this behaviour is expected.

Yes my board has Modem and even network is selected.
