Linux support for AM335x

Hi All,

I have been searching the TI site for the official word on Linux support for the AM335x. It looks like the PSP is coming in Nov 2012. Is there anything we can download and test now? Also is the BeagleBone officially supported by TI or is that a pure community effort?

Have the kernel modifications needed for the AM335x been folded back into the mainline kernel?

What is the long term support for the AM335x? How long would we be able to buy one specific part #?

Hi Sean,

aside from TI you have several projects providing some kind of BSP for AM335x/BeagleBone:

http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/

these projects provide everything from toolchain till bootloader, kernel and root file system.

With every new version main line kernel gets more and more am335x functionality included, but it is a long process. For now you can only boot from RAM disk or NFS.
