Questions about am335x GPIO.

hello,

The first question is about a term. What is gating? several showup of this term in the datasheet, such as a clock is gated. one of it has a quotation says "cut off". does it actually mean cut off in the datasheet?

another question is about operating the gpio. I know there are four GPIO modules in the chip. each have 32 channel. But there is only one 32 bits register to set or clear gpio pins. How to choose a specific module to program? I can't find the answer in the GPIO chapter.

Hi Lihua,

1. Clock gating means clock can be disabled, or cut-off.

2. In the AM335X Technical Reference Manual Table 25-5 lists the register offset for each of the four GPIO blocks. GPIO0 base address can be found in Table 2-2, and GPIO[1...3] base adrresses are in Table 2-3.
