Hi,

Our customer is trying to change SRAM from Dual port to single port 1MB(512K x 16bit) on AM335xICE.

As to the errata of EVM, it is incorrect to use GPMCA20-A23 for A16-A19 of NOR or SRAM.

So our customer connects GPMCA6-A8 to A16-18 of SRAM. Is it ok?

Also is other issue for using single port SRAM with AM335xICE?

Please advise me.

What is the SRAM part number? If you have a datasheet please post it, or give a link to it.

SRAM part number is CY62157EV30. You can download data sheet in Cypress web site (http://www.cypress.com)

Also the below is their connection.

GPMC_AD[0-15] ---- Latch circuit ----- SRAM A[0-15] : Address

GPMC_A[6-9] ------------------------------ SRAM[A16-18] : Address

GPMC_AD[0-15] ---- Latch circuit ----- SRAM IO[0-15] : Data

Hi Michi,

Yes, this is the correct way to connect on the ICE EVM board. Please tell customer to read ICE EVM Errata Advisory A2.1. It explains why GPMC_A[6-9] have to be used on the ICE board instead of GPMC_A[1-4], and the resulting non-contiguous address space on the SRAM/NOR.
