DM8107: Status, vs '8147, PMIC info

I have a good customer that is looking for information on the DM8107 and how it compares to the DM8147. Could someone please help me answer them?

What is the current status and release schedule for the DM8107
Are the DM8107 and DM8147 pin for pin compatible?
Is there a HW Accelerator in the DM8107?
What is available for PMICs that support the DM8147? Would the PMIC be the same for both the ‘8107 and ‘8147?

1.) I do not know the release schedule for DM8107, can we have a discussion offline about this customer and the potentail pitfalls with designing in this part?

In general, support for DM8107 will have to come from Z3 or udworks depending on the application. If they customer is more interested in a IPNC DM385 would be better where as if the application is a DVR DM8107 is your part.

2.) The two parts are similar but no.

DM8107 is closer to DM385

3. Yes

Support for utilizing the HW Accerlerators will have to come from 3p's though.

4. http://www.ti.com/product/tps659113 would be the PMIC of choice for DM8147
