H.263 quality is not good in low bitrate.

Hi everyone,

I used H.263 which version is REL.500.V.MPEG4.E.SP.IVAHD.01.00.00.03. I found when bitrate is low (below 500k),

the blocking effect is very serious. The picture quality is not accepted. So, can I adjust some parameters to

raise picture quallty? Example: earlySkipThreshold or enableThresholdingMethod or other parmeters? And how to use

these parameters? Could anyone give me some suggestions? Thanks a lot.

I use RDK3.0. H.263 enc is a enc link.

For what resolution and frame rate are you setting 500K?

Hi Radhesh,

Resolution is 4CIF(704*576) and frame rate is 30.

For this resolution and configuration, lesser than 500k may not be sufficient. Anyways, did you try enabling flags like intra refresh method, enablePerceptualQuantMode etc?
