Hello All,
Have a question/discussion regarding using the real-time debug mode feature under CCS v5.3x and the TMS320C5535 -
When debugging with interrupts enabled - is it better to use this feature - or not? (One would think - yes - it should be better.)
I have noticed that when I enable real-time mode - it seems to be more reliable hitting breakpoints - but maybe not. Sometimes it would appear that registers like ST1_55 become 'sticky' - and I don't think I see this same behavior when not using the real-time feature. So, I am not sure if enabling this mode also changes the default behavior of the processor.
I have also put some 'wall clock counters' in some of my code - and I see those counters counting a lot more than the times I am hitting the breakpoints - so it would appear to me as well that it may not really be 'real time' mode.
I am hoping someone can shed some light on this - maybe there is a doc or part of a doc that discusses this in more detail - appreciate you pointing me to that if so.
Thanks In Advance,
johnw
