Does init.rc file in android act as a daemon ?

Hi all,

Am working on AM3730 processor with Android DevKit version gingerbread 2.3.4 and platform is custom AM3730 board.

I have question regarding init.rc file.

Is that file executed only once at the device boot up process or does it keep running back-end as a daemon?

Looking forward for the suggestions.

The init.rc file is parsed by the /init application.

You will notice that this file has various sections "on init", "on boot" etc. The instructions from these sections are executed whenever that stage of boot is reached.

At the end of the file you will see "service XX", these are like daemons which may be always running or may be triggered by some event.
