Hi,
We need to buy TI OMAP-L138 / TMS320C6748 EVMs for evaluation.
Searching “L138” in e2e.ti.com shows several products:
$1,050 |
$495 |
$295 |
$195 |
L138/TMS3206748 EVM |
L138 Experimenter |
Experimenter Kit for Universities |
LCDK |
We are considering the first three LogicPD products since they appear to have existed longer and have better development support (documentation, software).
1. The images on their respective motherboard are the same. Do they three share the same motherboard?
2. The product page for $295 university kit does NOT show SOM and LCD screen. However in the linked “More Information” page under “Features” it says that the UNIV kit contains L138 SOM; in addition it has no 4.3” LCD but ONLYa 60-pin LCD header. Since the comparison between $1,050 EVM and $495 Experimenter shows primarily only a difference of TMS320C6748 SOM, then putting these information together could we understand the differences between the three LogicPD boards as:
($1,050 EVM) – (C6748 SOM + flash + ADC + DAC + Video In/Out) = ($495 Experimenter)
($495 Experimenter) – (4.3” LCD) = ($295 University kit)
?
3. I don’t see $295 University kit on Side by side comparison of OMAP-L138 Experimenter Kit and EVM Kit page. Why it is not listed there?
4. Does the L138 SOM use TPS65070 for power supply?
We also want to know whether L138 SOM supports debugging DEEPSLEEP mode. It hardware schematics can be found at its TI Wiki page, and we found in its schematics page that DEEPSLEEP (F4) pin is connected to net “uP_UART2_CTSn”, which is connected to J1 and I2C voltage translator PCA9306 (U21) simultaneously. But in order to debug DEEPSLEEP mode we need to be able to pull the voltage of net “uP_UART2_CTSn” to high and low. Can this be done on the L138 SOM?
Please get back to us ASAP.
