Boot Fails if ALSA Disabled

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAPL138, OMAP-L138, DA8XX, PMP

I used menuconfig to disable the ALSA driver for the LCDK OMAPL138 development kit. After building a new uImage, the boot process just stops. How can I figure out what is causing the failure? I am using TFTP for uImage and NFS for the filesystem. Compiling with ALSA boots as expected.
