xloader hangs while booting from MMC card in AM3517

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM3517

Actually i am trying to boot my custom AM3517 board from MMC card .but is giving the following error

 Texas Instruments X-Loader 1.51 (May  3 2011 - 19:22:25)
Unsupported Chip!
X-Loader hangs

I have made FAT32 partition for my SD card.using the following link

http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/SD/MMC_format_for_OMAP3_boot

I got 1 Partition of 123 MB. And i have put my X-lod.bin.ift(renamed as MLO), uboot.bin & uImage file in this partition. according to the following link:

http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/AM35x_EVM_Boot_from_SD/MMC_card

  • Hi Abhinav,

According to me you are using a x-loader for different processor. Check the configuration before compiling x-loader.

I'll move the thread to the proper forum - AM35x, AM37x Cortex-A8 Microprocessors Forum

  • I put three files in my MMC FAT32 partition of 123 MB.

    1. MLO(x-load.bin.ift ) from directory /AM35x-OMAP35x-LINUX-PSP-04.02.00.07/images/boot-strap/am3517

    2. uImage file from directory               /AM35x-OMAP35x-LINUX-PSP-04.02.00.07/images/kernel/am3517

    3.u-boot.bin file from directory           /AM35x-OMAP35x-LINUX-PSP-04.02.00.07/images/u-boot/am3517

    I guess i am using x-loader for AM3517 only,

  • i have tried to use older version of X-loader 1.44.It is giving the following error

    Texas Instruments X-Loader 1.44 (May  9 2010 - 16:49:13)

  • Hi Abhinav,

I haven't board with such processor and could not investigate this issue but I'll escalate the issue to the owners of the AM35xx forum. I'm sorry for the delay but they are in vacation until 3th January.

  • Sorry for delayed response...

Can you tell me how to change the NAND ID for our custom board?

I am suggested that if i will change the NAND ID in X-loader file then problem will be solved.

  • Abhinav,

Check the line 119 of the file
