How to play video on AM335x board?

Hi,everybody!

I am trying to play video on AM335X board .The system I am using are kernel Linux 3.2.0 and base-rootfs.I post mplayer to try to play video ,however, I can't see any video pictures on LCD panel.

How can I play video on AM335X board?Is there other methods to solve my problem? I didn't find any guies about AM335X playing video?Can anyone give me some advice?

Are you using the AM335x EVM or SK?

If so you can do video (and audio) on the LCD as shown here:

But you need to use the ti-sdk-rootfs-image-am335x-evm.tar.gz filesystem (not above) to get video to work "out of the box".

Thanks for your reply.The AM335x board I am using was designed by myself. I know ti-sdk-rootfs-image-am335x-evm.tar.gz filesystem can play video,but I think its size is a little big and it contains a lot of application which I do not need.So I am using base-rootfs-am335x-evm.tar filesystem.

I have read the wiki guide you provided.Do I have to post Gstreamer if I use base-rootfs-am335x-evm.tar filesystem?

Not sure what you mean. If you use the base, I guess you would have to manually install Gstreamer (and required libraries) somehow. I have never tried.

But it seems to me easier to "break down" from ti-sdk-rootfs than "build up" from base-rootfs. Unless you know Gstreamer well.
