About DDR VREFSSTL in the C6657_EVM_SCH

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS51200

Dear specialist

My customer JCM is considering C6654 and DDR termination (TPS51200).

He is refering to  C6657_EVM_SCH for information,it is used TPS51200 for VTT termination.

About DDR VREFSSTL it is simply divided by VCC1V5 ,

VREFIN and VREFOUT of TPS51200 is not used in spite of having equipped the voltage follower circuit.

I want to know why EVM doesn't use TPS51200's VREFIN and VREFOUT. Is there anything reason?

  • The incorrect use of the VREFIN and VREFOUT was noted and fixed in the Keystone II EVM designs.  Although the the VREFOUT wasn't used in the DDR3 circuit for the C6657 EVM, the voltage dividers that are used are sufficient for the interface to operate without any problems.  The issue will be fixed if we find any other reason that requires a change to the board.

  • Dear Bill

Thank you for your reply.I was looking forward to answer.

I can understand it is no problem without using VREFOUT of TPS51200.
Which way is recommended either using VERFOUT or not using VREFOUT?
Customer had aleady decided to use TPS51200. And then they need to be fixed design soon.
    Could you please advise them.

I am looking foward to hearing from you.

    Best regards,
