RSTOUT_WD_OUT signal of AM3874

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM3874

Hi,

I have one question regarding RSTOUT_WD_OUT signal.

According to "7.3.14 RSTOUT_WD_OUT " of the AM3874 data sheet (sprs695b), RSTOUT_WD_OUT is alsways 3-stated and the internal pull resistor is disabled on this pin while POR and/or RESET is asserted.

Our customer tested its signal with external pull-up resistor (3.3V, 10kohm). When POR is asserted, the level of this signal is pulled down to 2.3V. This menas it seems internal pulldown resistor(approximately 20kohm) is connected. Is "RSTOUT_WD_OUT" signal really internal resister disabled?

Please let me know.

Best regards,

Michi

  • Hi、

I found the below question and comment in E2E Davinch Video proc4essor forum.

    http://e2e.ti.com/support/dsp/davinci_digital_media_processors/f/716/t/236003/reply.aspx

According to the above comment from Pavel-san, RSTOUT signal is asserted when the device is in reset. I understood it. RSTOUT is not 3-stated when the device is in POR/RESET.

But I am still confused. Our customer looked RSTOUT signal is in approximately 2.3V with the external pull-up resistor(3.3V, 10kohm) when POR is asserted. Why? If RSTOUT is asserted, RSTOUT pin should be 0V, not 2.3V.  I don't know the reason of this symptom.

    Please help me.

    Best regards,

    Michi
