OMAP L137 GPIO MAX CURRENT DRIVE AND FAILURE POINT?

Device: OMAP L137 ZKB      Signals:   GPIOS 2[1] and 2[2]   (pin L16 and N7)

Hi, I've browsed some of the other "max current" topics but they don't seem to address my question.  I've found a boot condition in my beta-board that results in a 45mA current for 5 seconds coming from two GPIO pins prior to final boot up. (Discovered through thermal imaging)

1) At a given current above the user guide's 4mA maximum, can we predict how fast the part will fail?  eg. at 45mA for 5 seconds will the OMAP take permanent damage?

2) What is the max instantaneous current these pins can supply?

Any insight above and beyond the generalized user guide is appreciated.

Thanks!
