How can I build PCEmulation for OpenGL ES 2 on AM335x EVM on Ubuntu10.04 on VMWare Workstation?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LINUXEZSDK-SITARA

Hi,

I have accomplished installing linux_sdk, u-boot, kernel, cross_compile and other requisites. Then I installed Graphics_SDK_4_06_00_01 which is got from ti-sdk-am335x-evm-05.04.01.00's installation files. To develop OpenGL ES on this board I read the file  "OpenGL ES 2.x SDK User Guide.1.46f.External".  It refers to OpenGL ES 2 SDK Installation on how to build PCEmulation for PVR. So my quetion is as follow.

  1. Whether I can build PCEmulation on Ubuntu in VMWare Workstation?
  2. If I can, how to build? By the way I can't find LinuxX86 lib needed for installation anywhere.
  3. If PCEmulation can't be installed, that means I have to build demos on PC then download them to am335x_evm? Right?
  4. Can you provide me more information on how to develop OpenGL ES on am335x_evm especially the relations between PowerVR and SGX and how to build my own OpenGL ES demos in QT with hardware acceleration?

Look forward to your reply.

  • For 1,2,3  ==> Please check with IMGTEC (Imagination Technologies) forums

    4) For developing demos for running on the EVM, please download the Sitara SDK from (http://www.ti.com/tool/LINUXEZSDK-SITARA). This contains all tools necessary to cross-compile and run on the EVM, for Qt.

  • Thanks,

I will check with IMGTEC forums. As for Sitara SDK, I have installed ti-sdk-am335x-evm-05.04.01.00. Cross-compile is running well. Now in CCS V5 I can connect the target evm board with RSE and exccute the executable files.

But I have another problem. The serial port can't be connected when I follow the cofiguration in the course. Does the initiate system on board all output "CCCCCCCCCCC" (under VMWare Player usb-to-serial onWin7)?

Maybe I should read more documents.

    Best regards.

  • ok,

it's the serial port wire's problem.
