We are designing ANDROID custom device with the reference of AM335xevm_SK kit. WL1271 ( Wifi + BT ) is used in SK kit for wireless and Bluetooth, But we planned to implement the murata module with WL1283 ( Wifi + BT + GPS ) in our design.

How to implement the driver for wl1283 in android ICS, What are the changes need to be do in source code ? Because WL1283 have additional feature (GPS) kindly the share the information here regarding porting the wl1283 in ANDROID ICS

The WL12xx drivers supplied with the TI Android DevKit should work for WL1283 too. However, you may need some modifications related to I/O assignment, clock settings etc in the board file. Your vendor should be able to help with that.

Note that the GPS functionality is not tested in the TI DevKit.

Can you clarify me that GPS functionality is not tested or not supported ?

we did't find any HAL configuration/ hardware lib for GPS on AOSP.

Yes GPS is not supported in AOSP and TI Android DevKit. Sorry for the confusion.

AOSP is not support the GPS, But with the help of your GPS vendor you can add the GPS functionality in your kit by making the changes in

/frameworks/base/services/java/com/android/server/location/

/hardware/libhardware/include/hardware etc.,,,,

I do not expect GPS will be supported with TI DevKit any time soon.

You should be able discuss with your WL128x support team regarding enabling GPS for your specific device.
